
Whether the need is advice on helping a student who is educationally challenged or preparing a hog to show, Mr. Berninger is the one to see. Having been raised in a single parent home, he brings special understanding to the students. Mr. Berninger taught vocational agriculture at the Duncan High School for 23 years before becoming the assistant principal at Duncan Middle School. He held that position for 5 years. In December, 1996, when Duncan’s E.D.G.E. Academy was established, he became the director. He is married to Karen Berninger who teaches English and coaches girls basketball at Duncan High School. They have three children and four grand children. His daughter, Baylie, is a junior at Duncan High School. Mr. Berninger enjoys riding horses and attending athletic events.
