Mr. Jeramy Haas
   
Director of Bands
Director of Instrumental Music

Jeramy Haas currently serves as Director of Bands and Director of Instrumental Music for Duncan Public Schools in Duncan Oklahoma.  He has held this position since 2003.  Mr. Haas started his teaching career at Okeene, OK in 1987.  During his three years there, his bands received superior ratings at the district level all three years and his third year, 1990; the Okeene High School band received the OSSAA Sweepstakes Award.  In 1990, Mr. Haas moved to Cordell, OK where his bands were awarded superior ratings at the district contest all 13 years that he taught there.  The Cordell HS Band was awarded the OSSAA Sweepstakes award three times: 1996, 2002, & 2003 and the OSSAA Outstanding Achievement Award twice:  1993 & 1998.  Since arriving in Duncan, the DHS Bands have won steady acclaim.  They were awarded the OSSAA Sweepstakes Award in 2004, 2007 and 2010 and the OSSAA Outstanding Achievement Award in 2006.  

Mr. Haas has served as president of the Southwest Oklahoma Band Director’s Association, the Shortgrass Band Director’s Association and also as president of the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association.  He currently serves as President of the Oklahoma Music Adjudicator's Association.  In 1994, Mr. Haas was selected as the Band Director of the Year by the Southwest Oklahoma Band Directors Association.  He was also selected as Teacher of the Year for Cordell Schools in 1994 and 1999.  

Mr. Haas is a member of the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association, the Southwest Oklahoma Band Director’s Association, Phi Beta Mu, Kappa Kappa Psi, and the Oklahoma Music Adjudicator’s Association.  He is an active clinician and adjudicator throughout Oklahoma and Texas.

Mr. Haas holds both  Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Instrumental Music Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK.  He is a graduate of Campbell County High School in Gillette, WY.  Mr. Haas resides in Duncan, OK with his wife Dawn, and three children; Scott, Jessica, Joshua.


 

 


Mrs. Dawn Haas
 
 
Assistant Director of Bands

Dawn Haas serves as an Assistant Director of Bands for Duncan Public Schools in Duncan, Oklahoma. Mrs. Haas directs the sixth grade beginning band, assists with the High School Marching Band, Concert Band and Colorgaurd, woodwind ensembles, and teaches private lessons.  Also, she currently serves as Treasurer for the Oklahoma Bandmaster's Association Executive Board.  Previously, she has held the position of Secretary and Parliamentarian.  She also is currently the Band Vice President of the Oklahoma Music Adjudicator's Association.  Before moving to Duncan, Mrs. Haas was an assistant for the high school and taught elementary music in Cordell Public Schools in Cordell, OK.  Additionally, she served as Administrative Assistant for the Southwestern Oklahoma State University's Summer Music Camps for several years.

Mrs. Haas holds a Bachelor's degree in Clarinet Performance from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and is a certified Instrumental Music Teacher in Oklahoma.  She is a graduate of Hilldale High School in Muskogee, OK.  Mrs. Haas is a member of the Oklahoma Bandmaster's Association, the Southwest Oklahoma Band Director's Association, Oklahoma Music Adjudicator's Association, and Tau Beta Sigma.  Mrs. Haas resides in Duncan, OK with her husband Jeramy, and three children; Scott, Jessica, Joshua.

Erin Jiminez serves as Colorgaurd Instructor for the Duncan High School Marching Band.
