Parent Corner

Parents, below you will find important information and handouts that were distributed in class. If a copy did not make it home to you, you can download them here. They are in PDF format. Please check this page often as we will try to keep it current.

PRACTICE CARDS
Practice cards are due on Thursdays and we ask that each student average 140 minutes per week (20 minutes/day is ideal). A parent must sign completed practice cards for them to be valid and count toward your student's grade.

As you know from reading the handbook, practice cards are 20% of your student's grade in our band program. Not turning in these cards can hurt your student's grade very quickly. Please do everything you can to help remind your student to practice and bring in their practice cards on time.

Cards will also be accepted on Fridays in case your child forgets to bring it on Thursday, but a -10% late penalty will apply. However, we will give extra credit for any practice cards exceeding 140 minuets. Also, each student will receive one "free" week per nine (9) week grading period where we will automatically turn a 0 into a 100 in our grade book if he/she has missed turning in a practice card.
