Welcome to our library page, where you can access information 24 hours a day! As an elementary school library, our focus has been to support the curriculum taught in the classroom and provide quality books to help students find the enjoyment of reading through listening and participating in story time.
Our mission of the Will Roger's Library Media Program is to assist students in the development of skills necessary for independent life-long learning. Emphasis is placed on the appreciation of literature, the enjoyment of recreational reading, as well as reading for information. It is our mission to meet students' and teachers' educational needs today, as well as to anticipate tomorrow's needs. Will Roger's Library Media Center instructs students to use resources through print and electronic information sources to successfully apply skills that will enable them to locate, select, evaluate, interpret, and communicate information.
I am at the Will Rogers Pre K Center library all day Monday and Friday mornings to teach classes in library skills. Our library assistant, Mrs. Sherri Lederer, helps keep our library running smoothly every day and does an enrichment activity with each class.
We have Family Night the first Tuesday of each month from 5:30-6:30. Our next FRN will be Tuesday, March 4 4th with guest reader, JD Taylor, station manager of DTV-10. We begin with an age appropriate book being read to the children present, have interaction activities and end with the students being allowed to check library books in and out. We have a drawing for a free book for a boy, a girl and a teacher. You must be present to win. Come and enjoy!
